Have you ever felt like you were missing something -
like the last page of a good novel?
Or the final piece of a puzzle you'd been working on for weeks?

That's what my life feels like sometimes.

Like I'm missing something important.
And I haven't a clue what it is!

It can be frustrating -
trying to find that one 'thing' that
would/could make my life whole.

And if I don't know what 'It' is -
how can I know what to search for?

My friends try to be helpful -
offering their ideas as to what 'It' is,
but their advice is as empty as my life.

One tells me:
"You need a man to make your life whole."
and another says,
"You need a career."

A man is a partner on life's journey,
and a job is just something you do.

They don't define who you are.

Try telling that to a married woman,
who has the career of her dreams!

Until the Gods open my eyes,
I'll continue to try to find that missing piece.
I might even write the ending page to that
novel!

But I can guarantee you this:
I won't stop looking.
I think I like a good mystery.
