"Where does peace reside? Does it lie in the silence of solitude? Does it lie in quiet agony of loneliness?
When we are with others, Can we find peace in their presence?
Perhaps there is no peace. Not in this life...."
I came across this one evening, while searching for some simple chatter to fill the quiet space. It gave me pause, and brought me to this wondering. Where indeed does peace reside? And if not in this life, then when? Where can we find the peace we so desperately need to fill our lives, and enhance our souls? Does it live freely in our consciousness, or just outside the obvious? As the author questions, can we find it in the presence of others?
This simple, little poem had me pondering, questioning ... searching. Then it came to me! There is no need to search, to question, to look outside myself for this elusive peace. It lives in me. It flourishes in the quiet moments of my solitary life - if I listen. It heals and comforts - if I allow. It brings companionship - if I open my eyes.
Peace. The tranquility of being at one with my Self.
Peace resides in me ... in the silence of solitude in (the) quiet agony of loneliness
